PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Md Shahjahan is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Economics from the University of South Florida, United States, in 2024, focusing on the determinants of women's and children's health in Bangladesh, a topic of significant local importance. It has been presented at several international conferences and has shed light on crucial issues in the country.
Before obtaining his Ph.D., Dr. Shahjahan received his M.A. degree in Economics from the University of South Florida, an M.A. degree in Economics from Western Illinois University, United States, and M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Economics from Jahangirnagar University. Dr. Shahjahan is a member of the American Economic Association and a lifetime member of the Bangladesh Economic Association. Dr. Shahjahan teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses.
